I FELT SO RELIEVED UNTIL I READ THIS :

Teen Found Dead of Accidental Overdoese, Coroner Rules. 

"May 5th, LUCY - The 16 years-old girl whose body was recovered from a _________ beach house by police late Friday evening died of an accidental overdose the _______________ Country sheriff coroner has declared. 

 The man whose father owned the house, Blake ____________, 20, and his friend Ian __________, 21 were both retained for questioning in this matter. Two of the teenage friends of the victim, a boy and a girl who were present at the scene but whose names have not been released, were also taken to Juvenile custody.
Toxicology reports indicate that the young woman, the daughter of a local college professor and his wife had taken lethal intravenous does of crystal methamphetamine and heroin. Two journals found in the young woman's bedroom have been turned over to detectives by her parents.

A spokesman for the district attorney's office would not speculate on wether or not criminal changes would be field in the case, but a full investigation is under ways" (267).

It can happen to anyone .... 

She was a good girl, living a good life. One night, one party, 

changed everything. 

        She thought it was fun. She thought she could handle it.

She didn't think anything bad could happen.

Rehab

" Everything else comes in snapshots" (253).
Cameroon, Mom and Dad has been calling Lucy for the past hours but no one answered. Cameroon worried tries his best to find Lucy.
Lauren, Lucy, Blake and Ian were having a wonderful time when suddenly, Lucy crashed on the floor and remained unconscious. Lauren cries harshly before she calls 911. 
"SHE DYING. SHE'S DYING"(255). She then called Cameroon who came quickly. The ambulance arrives shortly after. Lucy is taken to the hospital. She is not allowed to see have any visits for the moment. Lucy was treated properly at the hospital. When she was doing better, she was sent to rehab located in the middle of nowhere, Palm Springs. She had no cell phone, no computer, no journal, no pen, NOTHING. She was to stay in a small room and go to AA sessions where each individuals shared their personal experience. In AA Lucy met Amy who is a year older than her and is attending college next year. Amy's story is very similar to Lucy's except that Amy started doing drugs when she was only FOURTEEN whereas Lucy started when she turned SIXTEEN. Randy, is responsible to help Lucy. Lucy and Amy both have Randy as their advisor. Lucy is now doing much better and says she never wants to do drugs again. She s feels different now and has become a new person. After two weeks, the whole family came to visit, they were all proud of Lucy who seemed to have been taking responsibilities.

April 27th
"Tomorrow I get to go home. I'll have been here for 28days"(264).

April 28th
"I am back HOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. She said YOU are a different girl now I can see it in your eyes. Dad gave me back my self phone.. Ross was at Yoga! It was so good to see him! When I walked into the room, he came runnig over and gave me a hug and said I'm glad your okay. I hugged him thighs and said, I'm more than okay. I'm better then ever. See you Monday"(266).

OH WOW !!! WHAT A HAPPY ENDING RIGHT ?? FELT SO RELIEVED UNTIL.... 

Lauren and Lucy are no longer talking to each other, Lucy starts doing better in school. To reward her, her parents gave her a car. She was to be careful and follow the rules. Even if Lucy had everything she wanted, she was still not very happy. She barely spoke to Ross during school, she could not even look at Lauren nor Ian nor Blake, instead she sat down with Astrid and Cam. Things were starting to change for Lucy. She was becoming a different person. Lucy was very sad for she no longer had real friends. She missed them, she missed being stoned but most of all she missed sharing everything with Lauren. Lauren and Ross has not been coming to school lately. Lucy tried texting Ross, who off course did not answer. Lucy and Lauren never spoke to each other. It's been about a month and a half when Lauren and Lucy last said Hi to each other... One day, Lucy sees Lauren who looks awful, she had lost 10 pounds, does drugs in school, loss her hair, she even looked and dressed differently. Dumbfounded, Lucy stands in front of her locker. As Lauren shows up, two girls from the 10th grade class come near by and start bugging Lauren, unable to defend her self, Lauren gave them a smile and starts crying, Lucy interferes, She shoved one of the girl to a locker and screams at the other one. A big smile stretches out on Lauren's face. They two best friends are reunited. They hugged each other for a long time and ran into the bathroom. Lauren is back, Ross is back, Ian is back and BLAKE IS BACK. We all know what it means. MORE DRUGS IN THE HOUSE. Lauren, Ross, Ian and blake have been doing drugs lately and off course encourage Lucy to join them. She shorty becomes addicted and cannot live without it.

"Now I'm this weed haze and I feel miserable. I'm not sure why I liked pot before. It seemed like such a lame high next to Tina"(247).

After being spending a night doing drugs at Lauren's, Lucy is found in a car accident. Luckily she is not dead but the children, Lauren, Lucy and Ross all went to jail for a night. Lauren for underage drink in, Lucy for driving under the influence and Ross for possession of drugs. They were to go to rehab,  AA for a month or so and had to pick up the trash along the high way next to the beach for community service. When they got home, Lucy was no longer allowed to see her friends without the presence of an adult, her parents cried a lot that day.

Around March 28th, during school, the entire gang, envied Ian's house. Lucy who has been doing, meth, ecstasy, cocaine craved for more and could no longer wait.

"I wanted it again. That feeling. I didn't cut out of school for the same old feeling. I wanted it different. 

                                    I WANTED MOREEEEEE. 

Ross pulled up his sleeves. Lauren rolled her eyes OH MY GOD I HATE NEEDLES.

Ian held a spoon with his handle bent and filled it with crystal meth, then held a lighter beneath it until it was a liquid. Blake pulled the orange cap off of a syringe, sucked the meth up into it, then he held it in his teeth while he swabbed Ross's arm with an alcohol pad. Carefully he eased the needle into a vein. Ross flinched and then closed his eyes out, recapped the needle, slid it into a small coffee on the bedside table, and said WHO IS NEXT ?"(252).

"I said Lauren I want this.I'm not going to be left out again... Blake tapped around my arm, then took an elastic strap and tied it around my arm near my shoulder and told me to squeeze my fist harder. I looked down and saw a blue light spiderweb of the vein start to pop from the bend at my elbow. The alcohol swab was cold. The prick was fast. At that moment I felt sexy, amazing, powerful, smart "(253).  

November 20th

" I wish I'd never done ANY of it. AND IT'S NOT BECAUSE IT MADE ME FEEL SO BAD. IT'S BECAUSE IT MADE ME FEEL SO GOOD". The three mousqueteers were seen together days and nights. Lauren was always sleeping over at Lucy's where as Ross he frequently takes them out to the movies, the beach, the parties. Usually they all happened to be stoned before the first hour.

The night of the homecoming, something TRAGIC happened to Lucy. As usual, the five "cool people", Lauren, Lucy, Ian, Ross and Blake, arrived at the party together. Ryan and Andrew, the ladies' dates were on time. Dying of boredom, the children have decided to leave the school. They all went to Ian's house. When the arrived, Ian had set up a table in the corner, in front of the mirror, where anyone who pleased could sniff a line. Lucy as usual remained baffled for she had never seen this before. Lucy allowed Lauren and Blake to partake her final decision. Staying under the influence and to resist, Lucy sniffs a line. The feeling of happiness comes back to her AGAIN. She sniffs another line then another one and so on. Everything was going wild, Lucy and Lauren decided to change in their bathing suits and stay in the hot tub with Ryan, Andrew and Blake.

All the sudden Lucy and Lauren were both craving for cosmos, Blake left the hot tub in order to satisfy the ladies. Lauren followed Blake into the kitchen... Lucy was left alone with Ryan and Andrew... After a while Lucy was worried... She got out of the hot tub and begin to search for her best friend... As she carefully opened the Lauren's room, she spots Blake lying naked on Lauren. Lauren was really loud. Lucy remained immobile... Devastated, Lauren went back upstairs to find the hotties. 

 " As I'm kissing Ryan, I feel arms around my waist and realize Andrew is kissing my shoulder!... I feel Andrew's hands moving up and down of my stomach and then to my breast... I pulled away from Ryan and laugh. Andrew what are you doing ? He just leans behind me and whispers, Shhhhh, then smiles and says, YOU KNOW YOU'VE WANTED BOTH OF US SINCE YOU LAID EYES ON US. All of the sudden my heart is pounding in my chest. I turn to Ryan I hope he will help me. But he just winks at me and leans in to kiss me again. I tried to pull back but Ryan tightens his grip around my waist while Andrew slides his hands down between my legs... And I hear Andrew saying Shhh as he slides his fingers under the fabric, pulling them to the sides, exploring, exposing. I yell: STOP DON'T, ANDREW! But Ryan is pulling me down onto the seat in the hot tub... Andrew pull my legs farther apart. Ryan is trying to kiss me again"(136).

"Their arms holding me down. Their mouths clamped over mine, stifling my shouts. Andrew laughing as Ryan steps in between my legs, forcing them to open with his. Screaming y heart is racing, where is everyone? Is Blake coming back ?" (136).

At that moment, Cameroon jumps in the hot tub, punches Andrew in the nose as Astrid, his girlfriend, pulls Lucy up on the side of the tub and covers her with a towel. 

"I have never heard Cameroon curse like this before: If you ever beep *** look at her again... If you beep*** look at her sideways... If you beep*** bump into her in the hallway, your a*** is MINE" (137).

Later on that evening...

While Lucy was going crazy on the diving board, Blake pushed her in the pool. Again, she was not embarrassed, instead she felt proud and happy. As people started jumping in, Lucy and Blake disappeared slowly under the water. Only God knows what they were doing. Cam brought Lucy home at twelve, as promised. Unable to sleep, Lucy starts to write in her journal. We then learn that Lucy has been smoking pot with her brother Cam, that Lauren and her had an extensive amount of of cosmos, that Blake's body was warm as he he was pressing it against her. The next day, the four adolescents are going to the mountains. There she meets Ian, Ross' boyfriend. He is about two years older than Lucy and seem really nice. On their way up, Lauren offers Lucy some XANAX which eventually make her feel calm, and light. Arriving at their destination, Ian pours some ecstasy into their hands. Lucy for the first time feels smart and funny. Unable to keep up with the group, Lucy is left behind Blake. They kiss  passionately with tenderness. Lauren takes Lucy home and stays and spends the night with her.

Since Lucy “behaved” at her first party, Cam wants to take her to the next one which will take place at Blake’s house. There she mets Astrid,who introduced herself NATHAN’S GIRLFRIEND :O. The ladies had some wine coolers, until Lauren proposed to make some cosmos. She quickly disappeared through the crowd. As she came back she was holding a smoothie like drink containing votka and much more. Lucy said she loved it. Blake spotting the ladies from far approaches quickly. He drags Lucy on the diving board where they both danced, like there was no tomorrow. He then tries to make a move... 

July 18

Lucy eventually starts going out and unfortunately is under the influence. Throughout the story, Lucy is living in a life that is not her. In a body that she is unable to recognized. At her first party, Lucy finds Ross, who had by then become her best friend. As soon as they arrived to the party, Cameroon offers Lucy a beer, she accepted his offer quickly. Lucy later on that same night finds her self alone in the corner. A sweet girl name Lauren sat down with her and together, they had wine coolers. It did not take a long time for Lucy to become wild. Lucy who is supposedly a very self conscious, is having more fun then anyone present at the party. Ross hugged lucy from behind and whispered in her ears, lets go somewhere calm. Excited, Lucy leaves Lauren and follows Ross in Blake's bedroom, the host of the party. Ross did not turn on the light as they got there. The music was not as loud as it had been before. All the sudden Ross pulls out a pipe and a bowl in which he puts some weed. Tempted to try, Lucy grabs the pipe in Ross’ hands who gave her the instructions. As she inhaled and exhaled the drug,  an extensive amount of white smoke invaded the room. All the sudden Lucy felt light and for once she considered her self pretty and sexy. As she walked outside the room, Blake, grabbed her by the waist and pulled her in the corner. She felt his soft warm lips press against hers. As she got downstairs, she looked very dumbfounded, Lauren came by and asked if she was doing okay. “off course” she responded. She told Lauren about her amazing night. At that moment, Lauren starts laughing carelessly, for Ross turned out to be gay. Lucy began to cry and felt heart broken. She never spoke to Ross for the entire night. Towards the end, they all exchanged numbers. The next day, they all went to the beach together and smoked a bit. Lucy, who is starting to like the feeling slowly becomes addicted to the drug. “I want another joint” (43).

July 4th

In a small town of Los Angeles, lives a family of four members. As the novel begins, Lucy, the youngest child and the main, character, turns sixteen on July fourth. As she wakes up, the young girl finds a journal, bought by Cameroon, lying next to her bed. As we all know, fourth of July is a big deal in the United States, for it is independence day. Lucy and her family however, do not celebrate much on that day. Instead, the family reunites and eat together as the fireworks reach the sky. Before going to bed, Lucy is to express her feelings and write her experiences of the day. Lucy follows her yoga teacher's instructions, which tend to be helpful.

Mid- July

As lucy turned sixteen, she becomes more exposed to society. Lucy who tends to be failing math, is being tutored by Nathan, her secret crush. One day after her math lesson, Lucy invites Nate home for dinner on saturday. Nathan quickly agrees. The flirtatious gentlemen, shows up with many flowers and held Lucy tight in his arm. It was about ten p.m when Nate announced his departure. Lucy accompanies him to his car. Naive as usual,  Lucy leans foward to kiss him, when suddenly, Nate rejects her claiming that he was not single. Very embarrassed, Lucy ran inside as quick as possible. The next day, Lucy and Cam decide to take the two o'clock yoga class, there she meets an attractive boy, who sat near her for the next hour. Unable to get his eyes off the young girl, the fellow individual introduced himself as Ross. Ross had clear blue eye, covered by his dark brown hair, falling on the right side of his face. After class, Cam, Lucy and Ross hung out in the parking lot, Ross then invited them to come to his mother's hotel. They all exchanged numbers and left. Later on that same day, Ross texted Lucy and invited her to the beach. It is her first date in ages. As Ross came to pick up Lucy, he was introduced to the parents. The car ride was awkward for a moment, then Ross and Lucy stated talking. On their way, Lucy learn many new things about Ross. As they arrived at the beach, Ross pulls down his window and starts smoking pot, amaze by actions, Lucy begins to laugh. After a while, he takes his board, and gets out of the car, Lucy then realizes that Ross is a surfer. Lucy and Ross became very close and hung out everyday. Lucy is now allowed to go out under the supervision of  Cam.
